Making payments better – together

October 24, 2022

As regular readers of our blog will know, Working Better Together is our core philosophy here at ClearCourse. It describes how we believe we get the best outcomes as people, and how our software businesses can become even better for their customers, too.

A key part of our business here at ClearCourse has always been payments software. In fact, recently, our Head of M&A, Josh Rowe, shared his strategy for identifying businesses we want to bring into the ClearCourse group, and having a payments opportunity came top of the list.

Our payments business, ClearAccept, is a world-class payments solution that enables our brands’ customers to offer stunningly good payments experiences to their customers.

As an integrated solution, ClearAccept works seamlessly with other ClearCourse software, meaning our customers can house all of their payments methods in one platform, and benefit from enhanced reporting features, among a range of other things.

So, why are we sharing this story? And what does it have to do with Working Better Together?

Payments are payments, after all.

In fact, all payments aren’t equal – so why should you settle for generic solutions?

Taking the philosophy of Working Better Together, we recently began exploring how we could make our payments solution even more useful for our software customers.

And the answer was to develop a whole range of different payment solutions – all built on and powered by ClearAccept – that offer functionality and ability that’s specific to the sectors we provide software in.

You see, during our work with our software businesses, it became clear that hospitality businesses need different solutions to golf clubs. Membership organisations need different options to retail stores.

And getting even more granular, different software requires different payments functionality to get the very best from it.

In the world of payments, one size doesn’t fit all.

Payments software tailored to sector needs

This is why we’ve launched our new ‘CoPay’ product – although ‘CoPay’ isn’t a name you’ll hear talked about apart from in the ClearCourse corridors.

Because what ‘CoPay’ means is TISSLPay. And intelligentgolfPay. And EKMPay. And, GaragePay, SwanPay, EworksPay, AssisiPay and many, many more.

Working in partnership with our software businesses – that have immense sector knowledge – and their customers, we have developed payments software that’s platform and industry-specific – all powered by ClearAccept.

Because while hospitality businesses need to split bills, golf clubs need to be able to offer auto top-ups easily. Furniture stores can speed up their cash flow and cut down on admin time with Pay-by-Link, while physical retail stores need self-service tills.

That functionality that’s very specific to an industry has been developed from genuine experience and on-the-ground input, and is something that big-name payments providers simply cannot offer.

Continually evolving to future-proof software

Over the coming months and years, our ‘CoPay’ payments platforms will continue to evolve to become even more relevant than they are today.

As well as being an integrated solution that just works within the software, it also means customers only have to deal with one provider and one support team.

And they can rest assured that their payments solution and software will continue to develop in sync – based on their insights, feedback and product requests.

By looking at ClearAccept through the lens of our software businesses and our customers' needs, we’ve been able to create a payments software that is genuinely different and will continue to become even more valuable as time passes.
